Membership Information & Sponsorship Opportunities

In 2026, we’re offering THREE bold new ways to be a member and support the surveying community at large. Each of our packages brings value to you as a member, to young surveyors around San Diego, and opportunity to put your work on a spotlight. We’re continuing to look for ways to grow as a chapter - and believe that 2026 will be our best year yet!

If sponsorships aren’t the right fit for your membership in 2026, Corporate (PLS, RCE), Affiliate (LSIT, unlicensed member), and Student (unofficial transcript/class schedule required) memberships are available à la carte in our store. Students can apply to be sponsored at the time of sign up.

Membership in the chapter is conditional upon membership in the state corporation within one (1) year as per the Chapter Bylaws. To join the state organization, visit their website at www.californiasurveyors.org

Memberships are valid for the calendar year in which they are purchased.

How are Members Represented?

Local:

Your local chapter represents you on local issues and serves as your voice within the profession. Through your chapter’s representative on the CLSA State Board of Directors, individual members have the opportunity to help guide the direction and priorities of the Association. This website also hosts online newsletters from CLSA local chapters throughout the state.

State:

CLSA member surveyors & civil engineers are represented at the state level through an active legislative program, a dedicated legislative representative, and ongoing liaison with the Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists.

Regional:

CLSA maintains active membership in the Western Federation of Professional Land Surveyors, which is composed of professional associations throughout the western United States and focuses on regional issues. In March 2026, WFPS, along with the state associations in Alaska, Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming will be hosting a joint Conference in Las Vegas on March 18-21, 2026.

National:

CLSA maintains national representation through its institutional affiliation with the National Society of Professional Surveyors. As of 2025, your membership with the state includes national membership.
